I wanted to get more of these done before our trip, but I took on a design project that ate up my time. These are the 3 I did finish.A three-headed mutant bird. If you thought to yourself, "I bet we'll see this character again sometime...", you'd be right.
Scary trees.
Alternate ninja color-way.
All are 2" x 3.5" cel vinyl acrylic on watercolor paper. You know the drill. :)
I'd like to thank all the folks who have been stopping by and leaving such nice comments! And even the ones who don't comment. I really appreciate your visits and your feedback!
And now... off to L.A.!

Little Ninja Card
Lately I've been buried in design work (gotta pay the bills!), but I had a quick chance to paint this little business card-sized ninja today. I'll be doing several more tiny paintings to bring down to LA next week to dish out to people, perhaps. Our trip is for fun, and hopefully I'll run into some cool artist folks while we're there if we're lucky. I'll be headed to Lynne Naylor's solo show at MModern Gallery on the 13th. Anyone else going?2" x 3.5" cel vinyl acrylic on watercolor paper.

Ninja Sketch
Quick ninja drawing for my friend Phil's birthday. First time trying out some cel vinyl ink. Goes on even smoother than it's cousin, black cel vinyl acrylic.4"x 6" cel vinyl ink on watercolor paper.

Flight of the Ninja
My good buddy I-Miun just had a birthday, so on a whim I decided to do a little painting for him very last minute. 4 x 6 inches cel-vinyl acrylic on thick Canson watercolor paper.Click for larger. Used a combination of frisket and multi-step streak-brushing for the effect. My scanner had a hard time with the reds. The actual piece looks a little better.
This beautiful painting by Bill Wray was the inpiration, though my result was a bit different.
With the birthday boy.
