Dr. Seuss

Here's my painting for the "Look at This, Look at That" Dr. Seuss tribute show opening Sat March 3rd at Nucleus. I'm so glad to be in this... loved Seuss growing up, and love his books even more now that I'm reading them to my 2 year old.

The story of Gertrude McFuzz is from the Yertle the Turtle book and it's a short one, but cute, entertaining and very poignant. The gist being, appreciate what you've got.

I used gouache for this one and have to say, I hit a point where I was absolutely enjoying the painting process. I dig the way it handles so much that I'm thinking to work in gouache over cel vinyl acrylic whenever possible.

Hope to see some folks at the show this weekend!
