Another one for the solo show next month. Paying homage to the great Charley Harper. Can you guess what tool I used to paint the clouds?
Falling Behind - 12" x 5" cel vinyl on illustration board.

oooh! so cute. I used to see those all the time.
super nice work! I love me some quails. Regarding the clouds, did you use a cotton ball?
Thanks A.M. and Ian!
Ian - You're so close! I actually tested out using a cotton ball, but it was pretty sloppy.
I used a Q-Tip cotton swab.
awesome work.
Awesome...thought u used a small sponge for the clouds. Did you have trouble keeping the cotton from sticking?
Thanks, Jesse and Sadie!
Sadie - I did have to be a little careful with it. I dipped the Q-tip in the paint and then blotted it on the palette, which effectively smashed the cotton down to keep it from getting too stringy and out of control. In the end it was a bit like stippling with a dry brush.
Wow, great paintings you have here! Love the colors. So much appeal in these and great designs! Really good stuff!
Hey Drake! Saw you were chosen as #5 in the Friday Five on Design Milk http://design-milk.com/friday-five-with-andrea-porter-of-bluebottle-art-gallery/. Congrats! Your work is looking amazing. Definitely going to check out your show coming up! Cheers...Jodi
