I think you are right the second one is scarier but you changed the eyes and he looks like the one who is scared. Frightened of the dark.

Thanks for commenting, people! It's interesting to see how people's preferences fall and how a couple changes affect the mood of a piece. This guy doesn't look scared to me, but more like he's driven by pure killing instinct. He's got that vapid, carnal thing happening...

You have some outstanding work here, this is definately my favourite. It's amazing how only three colours can just 'pow'!
Nifty-keen! I'll be interested to design a business card for myself one of these days - this is certainly one of the coolest I've seen.
