Here's some of the bonus surprise I mentioned! I've gone to a little effort to bring you some screen captures of backgrounds from one of my most favorite cartoons ever... Samurai Jack! I was frustrated by all the talk of the great, hand-painted backgrounds from the show, but very few examples online. I feel they are such a huge part of the show and as such, deserve better exposure. In this first installment, we have some select bgs from the title sequence. If I've done my homework, I believe they were painted by the great Bill Wray and designed by Genndy Tartakovsky and Dan Krall. These images are copyright Cartoon Network, Genndy Tartakovsky, and crew. This post is also timely, because it was recently announced that the fourth and final season of Samurai Jack is being released on DVD August 28th! It's about time. Please enjoy!
