Something Old, Something New

This is a painting I started long ago and was put on the back burner, only to revisit and finish very recently. It's my own take on the great children's book story, Tikki Tikki Tembo, which was written by Arlene Mosel and superbly illustrated by Blair Lent.

I apologize that the colors look overexposed a bit due to my scanner... the real piece does look much better.
